Lunch at Dear Lizzies

What a treat is was to have a great friend living in the Salt Lake area who could take me to do some fun lunch and shopping at Dear Lizzies in Highland Utah. They had the cutest sign made up and goodies for Stampin'Up! Convention attendees at the cash register.

Here I am with Cristtin in the background! We had a great time trying on a few accessories!

I really loved this headband on Cristtin!

Rings anyone?

A lovely display of desserts!

Lunch was delicious and I loved the chips being served in a teacup, so fancy.

This cupcake was SO yummy!

This store is so beautifully done in shabby chic! I will definitely make it back there next time I am in Salt Lake City!

My Paper Pumpkin June Kit just "kissed"

I was so excited to open My Paper Pumpkin kit this month! I really love this kit called Hello to You!
The hexagons are so hot right now!  Above is the design that the kit gives you all the supplies to make. Below is the card that I changed up just a little bit using my Island Indigo marker and the "kissing" technique.  The kissing technique is really simple.  Stamp your solid image stamp onto a patterned stamp and then stamp it on your paper.  The solid stamp will pick up the pattern to make a whole new cool "kissed" image!

I hope you enjoyed my quick post today! Try out the "kissing" technique with your stamps! It is fun and easy! Have a great day!

Need for Speed Racetrack Birthday Card

I am really excited to finally share this card on my blog!  I made this adorable race car card for my friend's three year olds birthday party.  Seth loves anything cars, so I wanted to make an extra special card for him.  The stamp set I used was Need for Speed from Stampin'Up!  This set also includes an ATV, speedboat and jet plane! I love the images in it because they are all very realistic.  My daughter Paige and I stamped these cars with Black Stazon onto Whisper White cardstock. We colored them in with Cherry Cobbler, Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turquoise inkpads and Blender Pens. I also used the Gold Stampin' Dazzle marker on the tires and the numbers on the side of the cars.  I colored the windshields in with a Bashful Blue ink pad and Blender pens.  I freehanded the Basic Black cardstock for the track and then used my Basic Black marker to make the railing. The white marks from the track and the clouds in the sky I made with the White Gel Pen. The grass was made Wild Wasabi cardstock free cut and ran thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I also used an awesome new hostess stamp set called Banner Greetings for the Happy Birthday flag, that I stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out.

I am really sad to see this stamp set retire! I think it was only in the catalog for a year.  I used it on one my Convention swaps last year.

You have until June 2, 2013 to order this stamp set! You can order directly from me online at www.cmhollingsworth.stampinup.net

Mother's Day Pop-Up Posies card

Tonight I am working on Mother's Day cards for my loved ones.  I have a few to send out, but want to make them all as different as the individuals I am sending them to.  Here is the first one I have created.

I used 3 of the Calypso Coral flowers from the Pop-Up Posies kit and stamped the En Frances background on them with Early Expresso ink.  I stamped the sentiment with Calypso Coral  as well. I started out with Very Vanilla Cardstock for the background but decided I liked the Early Express card base better. The polka dot paper came from the Tea for Two designer series paper pack from the Spring Mini catalog.  I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to make something special for the mother figures in your life.

Rainbow Splash Butterfly Cards

Video now live on YouTube!

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend!  Friday night was Stamp Club and these are two examples of one of the cards we made.  I made about 6 of these cards before I started making ones I really liked.  Coloring with reinkers is a harder technique to master than I thought!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please leave me feedback and I will mail one of these cards to a lucky person who leaves me a comment!

P.S. I saw a card similar to this in Stampin'Up!'s Stampin' Success Magazine for August 2012 by Aimee Cretsinger.  Her beautiful card gave me the inspiration to make these cards to share with you.
